Destiny

"Destiny is great"
These are words my mom is fond of,and guess what I have started loving the quote.Life is unexpected and when you expect life to be smooth you see the harshness and vice versa.Over the years I realized I come in the lucky lot,coz when things don't work out, when the situations are not in my hand God finds me something to "smile" about. When you are content with your life you have this smile direct from heart.Whenever I have been sad in morning ,something or the other is bound to happen to make me smile/laugh by evening :).Sometimes old memories make you smile and you forget the past.I have so many good memories and positive people around me and I'm cho very lucky.Today I wanna thank all known unknown faces who have been part of 'making memory phase' :P .All of sudden I'm getting shrills seeing my friends getting married. When you expect least thing to happen to a person & it happens its called Destiny.Hope everybody around ends up into good & live happily ever after.

lOADS OF LOVE :)

PS: as usual I'm writing c&*p :P

Worth?

Saturday, March 28, 2009

I just got a mail from an american NRI friend which did make me think

As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software Engineerand joined a company based in USA, the land of braves and opportunity. WhenI arrived in the USA , it was as if a dream had come true. Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India .My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat. I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two years of Burgers at
McDonald's and pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupeevalue went down. Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually enjoying hopping for gifts for all my friends back home.If I miss anyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent home one week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was getting shorter I was forced to select one candidate. In-laws told me,to my surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3 days, as I will not get anymore holidays. After the marriage, it was time to return to USA , after giving some money to my parents and telling the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA .My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she startedfeeling lonely. The frequency of calling India increased to twice in a week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing. After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a girl, were gifted to us by the almighty. Every time I spoke to my parents, they asked me to come to India so that they can see their grand-children.Every year I decide to go to India . But part work part monetary conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting India was a distant dream. Then suddenly one day I got a message that my parents were seriously sick. I tried but I couldn't get any holidays and thus could not go to India . The next message I got was my parents had passed away and as there was no one to do the last rights the society members had done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents had passed away without seeing their grand children. After couple more years passed away, much to my children's dislike and my wife's joy we returned to India to settle down. I started to look for a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the property prices had gone up during all these years. I had to return to the USA .My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to stay in India . My 2 children and I returned to USA after promising my wife I would be back for good after two years.Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my son was happy living in USA . I decided that had enough and wound-up every thing and returned to India . I had just enough money to buy a decent 02 bedroom flat in a well-developed locality. Now I am 60 years old and the only time I go out of the flat is for the routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me and gone to the holy abode.Sometimes I wondered was it worth all this? My father, even after staying in India , had a house to his name and I too have the same nothing more.I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM.Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing. This damned cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get occasional cards from my children asking I am alright. Well at least they remember me. Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors again who will be performing my last rights, God Bless them. But the question still remains
'was all this worth it?'

Acclimatisation

Acclimatisation : I heard this word years back in school times w.r.t frog how it changes itself according to the environment.Over the years I did realize the words true meaning.Over the years I have got used to almost every environment. In 2003 I left my home town and came down to mumbai, initially it was difficult because culture vise Doon and Mumbai were like poles apart. One more reason was I stayed in my Doon 15 years and all this while my school, friends, neighbors all remained same. But coming down to Mumbai was a big culture shock. But over the time I got used to it.College was never tough thing then coz I knew how things and people were partially . Over the time you do get used to new things (so called ).Over the time I realized that actually I never got out of my shell but anyways this is how I was/'m supposed to be :P. I would prefer people around me who could make me feel comfortable ,but I did realize its not gonna be same in coming times.

I realized that probably my acclimatisation speed rate is slower then others :P .For better future I have promised myself that I would never compare present conditions with past or future, coz when you don't have comparison in mind you get accustomed to new environment much easily. So let everyday of life be a new day ,every moment a new moment .Recreate moments every single second and live as if this is lat moment so you don't have to die with heavy heart and say on death bed "oh i wish I didn't waste my precious moment on stupid thoughts/people"

So live and let live & promise yourself to bring a smile on some random face coz small things do make difference

Loads of love to all

PS: I hate frogs yuk yuk yuk

The new : "thought "

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I'm bored till hell now days, don't have much things to do .I mean I do have but then I have loads of sleep and as usual other stuff to do which keep me away from things and weird thoughts.
I have some eldritch friends also with whom I'm in constant touch :P
Then there is this new theory which they taught me which states
The great value of the three F's:
forgive, forget and forge ahead

and guess what it works :).The basic funda is to follow it and live happily .

PS: I'm irritated my rooms AC is not working :( so here comes the heat :P

Why do we shout when we are angry?

Saturday, March 21, 2009

A saint asked his disciples, 'Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?'
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.'
'But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you?' asked the saint. 'Isn't it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when you're angry?'

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint. Finally he explained, 'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.'
Then the saint asked, 'What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small...' The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

MORAL:
When you argue, do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other more, else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.

Silence

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

When the whole world was discussing about Sri Lanka team today my family was mourning about the loss.
My bua is very close to me even her kids .My cousin Mona di,Sona di and Raju Bhaiya all got married within a year span (2002-2003).Sona di was youngest she was just 19 when she got married. She is known to be most beautiful girl in my family. She fits into "punjabi kudi" tag. Most of our family objected that she is too young to get married but bua said that she was middling in studies (that time she was doing BA) she would not find a suitable match later. My jijaji was the most handsome guy I have seen. She got married and all of us were really happy for her coz she was happy. She lived in a palace,& I'm not joking. My jijaji was from big jamidaar family from Rajasthan. They lived life king size, you name it and she has it .whenever I used to meet her she would bring the most high-priced gifts. Her happiness didn't stop here within a year she gave birth to Vansh (cuty pie of our family). They had the biggest lohri(For punjabees lohri is really important festival). In october she gave birth to a son and so they had this complete family picure now.
There were times I used to think sona di just has typical bahu life she isnt enjoying the life .I always used to think she hasen't spend time with her friends. She hasen't done typical things like us.But never mind she was happy.
But the biggest shock came today. My bua called up to tell that jijaji met with an accident & is no more. The only thing that struck me was Sona di's face.I said she is just 24 how could this happen ??.

I know this happens in every third house ,parents get their girls married at young age, without even thinking twice that their girl is still so innocent & unaware about the world.Today when jijaji is not around my cousin is left alone.Since jijai stayed in joined family I'm still skeptical how they are going to keep my sis.I'm still doubtful about the kids.I'm still doubtful about this old mentality.I'm still doubtful about her presence.

Numb with shock

wo raastay
gum na ho thay
hum sehra na
bhatak thay

in sudiyon kay
safar mein
uss waqt jo
teher jaa thay

hum tum say keh paathay

kabhi tho milo gay
kabhi tho kaho gay
hum jo yun na jaathay
kaash teher jaa thay

aaj bhi
talaash hai
wo raastay
chalay tho chal day

iss tarhan kabhi yun
saath saath
hamesha
iss safar mein

kuch tho tum keh jaathay

kabhi tho milo gay
kabhi tho kaho gay
hum jo yun na jaathay
kaash teher jaa thay

kabhi tho milo gay
kabhi tho kaho gay
hum jo yun na jaathay
kaash teher jaa thay
